Daytime Control Room Operator
In order to work within our Control Room, you must have several, essential elements:
1. An active and apt SIA License.
2. A checkable work history
3. A clean UK Driving License (we’ll explain why shortly!)
However, the company is built on more than merely an ability to do the job. In order to thrive in the environment, we have created you will also need to be:
4. A Team Player
5. Eager to learn and develop
6. Prepared to challenge yourself and your colleagues
7. A good decision maker with a keen eye for detail
8. Able to demonstrate excellent customer service levels
As with all fundamental roles to the business we have created a career progression path here at Scorpion which provides all employees the ability to clearly track their progress within the company. For our Control Room personnel this is most visible via the issue of our Stars Reward System which can be awarded due to exemplary performance and or tenure in the business. Each Star increases the hourly rate of pay, rewarding the individual for his or her achievements as they continue to work for us.
In addition, we provide a full uniform – the same uniform worn throughout the business from Reception to Directors – an example of our one team approach.
Furthermore, you will also be enrolled into the company pensions scheme, benefit from 28 days holiday per annum.
The position requires the majority of hours worked in our Control Room during the hours of 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs Monday to Friday, however it’s not uncommon for some shifts to be rostered overnights also.
A typical shift within our Control Room would provide a varied and fast paced challenge that would include:
· Handling Telephone Calls
· Dealing with Incoming Alarm incidents
· CCTV Monitoring of Private Space Premises
· Liaising with Staff and Clients.
· Despatching Mobile Patrol Officers
· Monday to Friday some administrative duties and support to the office teams, depending on the individual’s skillset.
Because of the importance of our Control Room officers and due to the nature of putting the customer first, we ensure that we have a number of personnel working in our Control Room at any one time when working out of hours – this allows for a member of the Control Room staff to support a site or our Patrol Officers in the field if the need should arise, thankfully it’s rare but does provide an excellent opportunity for Officers to better understand the delivery of our Monitoring Service in a unique and often invaluable way.
After the successful purchase of much larger refurbished premises, we have a purpose built control room fully supported with a new kitchen and dining facilities, locker areas, multiple bathrooms and break out space – all designed with the welfare of our Control and Patrol Officers in mind. In addition, our personnel department will support you as much as you prefer in order to progress, developing Personal Development Plans to ensure you have every chance for further Stars, role changes and/or increased earnings.
We would prefer that you join the business with experience but as our delivery is unique this isn’t essential – we will provide the training needed to help you maintain our service standards.
The hourly pay for this position is up to £11.00 per hour + Bonus and Incentives, as well as the possibility of additional hours covering stand by shifts at £15.00 per hour. Our internal Star Rankings ensures that your rate of pay can increase as you ably demonstrate your abilities.
